Dear Jazz fan,

The vision and main aims of our Foundation, of which Blue Jack Jazz Records is the label, are in a nutshell:

First and foremost the rediscovery and release of forgotten historic jazz sound material, which would otherwise disappear without notice.

Secondly the bringing together of established jazz artists with new talents to be recorded for release on CD.

Besides, during our trips in Europe we came across some very enthusiastic young musicians playing jazz just on the streets creating such a special atmosphere, that we decided to record their music too occasionally, despite our vision stated above.

As there is much interesting jazz music around in various styles, we narrow our activities down to the post-sixties period of melodic modern mainstream jazz performed by Dutch jazz musicians, "with the odd American or fellow European here and there"!

Even so, there remain enough sides open to Blue Jack Jazz to categorize their releases in, as the following captions show:
  • JAZZ FROM THE STREETS OF EUROPE
  • FULL HOUSE LIVE RECORDING SESSIONS
  • FORGOTTEN TAPES
  • MEMORABLE JAZZ FROM THE RADIO DAYS
  • DELIGHTFUL DUETS
  • BLUE JACK JAZZ STUDIO SESSIONS
Now, as we are nearing our first quinquennium it is remarkable to notice that some musicians stand out not only performancewise, but also by the number of appearances on our label, such as John Engels (over 10 times) as well as Hod O’Brien and Harry Emmery (each 7 times), whilst others such as Rob Agerbeek and Axel Hagen consider themselves already "Blue Jack Jazz artists" by mutual understanding.

We hope you will enjoy our music,
